About Esther

Esther Eghobamien-Mshelia, a Nigerian National, is an internationally recognized leader with thirty years’ plus proven track record and competencies in gender analysis with international human rights and policy frameworks like the SDGs, AU 2060, Beijing PFA and UNSCR 1325 to help address women’s human rights issues and gender stereotyping across sectors especially in the family and community spheres at both local and international levels.

In 2018, Esther was meritoriously nominated to serve on the CEDAW Committee to fill up the void left by the demise of Nigeria’s representative. Esther is Nigeria’s Candidate to the CEDAW Committee 2021-2024

Esther is the innovator of KOWGO Mobile Application, an indigenous gender friendly online/offline Mobile Technology-Based application for addressing the gender digital divide. KOWGO is available on Google Playstore

Chair, MTCPSI

Esther currently chairs the Ministerial Technical Committee on Private Sector Initiatives of the Federal Ministry of Women Affairs with the mandate of building partnerships and collaboration to facilitate the development of Private Sector-led stimulus initiatives.
